CHRISTMAS PARTY Join us for our annual Christmas Party on Sunday, December 2nd, at the Angevine Tree Farm in Warren, Connecticut. John and Kathy Angevine again host our holiday get-together, continuing what has become a Chapter tradition.
A fringe benefit is that you can purchase your own tree that day and the trimmings as well if you so choose. The beautifully decorated tree and gift shop is sure to offer something new and different for you and/or a friend. The center of attention is, of course, the magnificent 3/10 Robert Morton theatre organ. For any of you new members not familiar with the installation, John rescued the instrument from the Capitol Theatre in Danbury. Schedule: 5:00 – 6:00 PM Open Console 6:00 – 7:00 PM Dinner 7:00 – 7:15 PM Business meeting & election of officers for 2008 7:15 – 8:00 PM Christmas Concert, featuring Carl Hackert Menu: Appetizers and punch Chicken; Ham; Meatballs; Ziti, Macaroni & Cheese Cole slaw; Potato Salad; Baked Beans; Tossed Salad Rolls and Butter Dessert, Coffee and Tea The cost is $16.00 per person and – important – reservations must be received by November 25th. You’ll find a reservation slip on the last page of your Diaphone, to be mailed to Kathy Angevine.
Please bring a small grab-bag gift ($5 value plus tax) suitable for a person of your gender. You are also asked to B.Y.O.B. if you so desire, as well as small folding chairs and a card table.
The Christmas Party will feature a performance by an excellent organist, Carl Hackert. Founder of the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter Theatre Organ Society and organ coordinator for Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady, New York, he is a frequent performer on "Goldie", the famous Wurlitzer organ at Proctor's Theatre. He is a graduate of The Crane School of Music at SUNY, Potsdam, New York and is the Allen Organ dealer for his area. He has performed on both organ and harpsichord with orchestras in the Albany-Schenectady area.
Directions: From Torrington, take Route 202 and continue to the junction of Route 341, which will be on your right. Take Route 341 for about 2-1/2 miles to Angevine Road, the first HARD road on the right. Angevines’ Christmas Shop is attached to the fourth house on the left. Park in lot on right.
